Australia’s state and territory governments have announced their nomination programs for the 2025/2026 program year for the Skilled Nominated (subclass 190) and Skilled Work regional (subclass 491 visas.
The number of places allocated for the 2025/2026 program year is less than the previous year and with many occupations available under the Skilled Independent pathway (subclass 189) now requiring higher points, there is significant interest in state/territory nomination programs. Each state and territory are targeting applicants with skills and work experience where the demand is greatest with some employment sectors being afforded a greater priority. Nomination requirements vary but, generally, applicants are ranked according to their age, qualifications, work experience and English language test results and those with the most points will stand a better chance of being invited.
Concept Australia monitors the General Skilled Migration program and invitation criteria accross all visa subclasses and evaluates which occupations are being targetted and prioritised so that we can advise you whether your prospects of being invited are realistic.
