State/Territory nomination programs announced for 2025/2026

23/11/2025

Australia’s state and territory governments have announced their nomination programs for the 2025/2026 program year for the Skilled Nominated (subclass 190) and Skilled Work regional (subclass 491 visas.

  • New South Wales – subclass 190 (2,100 places) and subclass 491(1,500 places)
  • Queensland - subclass 190 (1,850 places) and subclass 491(750 places)
  • Victoria - subclass 190 (2,700 places) and subclass 491(1,400 places)
  • Western Australia- subclass 190 (2,000 places) and subclass 491(1,400 places)
  • Australian Capital Territory - subclass 190 (800 places) and subclass 491(800 places)
  • Northern Territory - subclass 190 (850 places) and subclass 491(800 places)
  • Tasmania - subclass 190 (1,200 places) and subclass 491(650 places)
  • South Australia - subclass 190 (1,350 places) and subclass 491(900 places)

The number of places allocated for the 2025/2026 program year is less than the previous year and with many occupations available under the Skilled Independent pathway (subclass 189) now requiring higher points, there is significant interest in state/territory nomination programs. Each state and territory are targeting applicants with skills and work experience where the demand is greatest with some employment sectors being afforded a greater priority. Nomination requirements vary but, generally, applicants are ranked according to their age, qualifications, work experience and English language test results and those with the most points will stand a better chance of being invited.

Concept Australia monitors the General Skilled Migration program and invitation criteria accross all visa subclasses and evaluates which occupations are being targetted and prioritised so that we can advise you whether your prospects of being invited are realistic

What our clients are saying

Dear Grahame and Team I just wanted to thank you all for your hard work and commitment over the past few months in obtaining my permanent residence visa for Australia. Before choosing Concept Australia, I researched other visa companies offering their services, however, none were as honest and as knowledgeable as you and your team were.Your experience with Australian visas, and from having lived in Australia set you aside from anyone else. I found your approach very professional from the offset, which I greatly thank you for. Kind regards Edward Hodge.
