Visa Criteria
 
 
The working Holiday visa is available to passport holders from Belgium, Canada, the Republic of Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong SAR, the Republic of Ireland, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Taiwan and the United Kingdom.
Working Holiday applicants must:
  • Be aged between 18 and 30
  • Not be accompanied by dependent children at any time during their stay in Australia
  • Meet health and character requirements
  • Meet financial requirement
  • Have not previously entered Australia on a Working Holiday visa
The initial visa must be applied for outside Australia and will enable you to travel to Australia at any time in the 12 months from the date the visa is granted. The visa is valid for a stay in Australia for up to 12 months and you can leave and re-enter Australia any number of times while the visa is valid.
 
Work in Australia is limited to a maximum of 6 months with any employer. You can also extend your initial stay in Australia by a further 12 months providing you worked in a regional area of Australia for at least 3 months (88 days) in plant and animal cultivation, mining, construction, fishing and pearling or tree farming and felling. A Working Holiday visa will also allow you to study in Australia for up to 4 months.
